Working Students

Interested in a career with horses?

At the core of our staff are working students, those who are passionate about an equestrian career. They are responsible for the upkeep and care of all horses and barns. In return they are provided with a weekly stipend, riding lessons, housing, vehicle use, and the opportunity to work alongside and learn from our trainers and horses.

Knoll Dressage has had a working student program since 1969.  Students must be at least 18 years of age. We do accept working students from Europe as long as they have the correct visas and credentials for such a program in the United States.  Working students are requested to email their resume, and information for the time they wish to be a working student.  An interview and tryout is usually required.

Their position includes but is not limited to:

On-site housing in fully furnished studio apartments

3 riding lessons per week on our schoolmasters

Opportunity for independent ride time

Use of a vehicle

Weekly Stipend

Endless Education

The goal of this program is to educate and raise up the next generation of equestrians. No prior horse experience is required, as long as they are hardworking and dedicated to learning. They are required to live on site and stay for a minimum of 3 months, during which they learn about equine care, medical, showing, braiding, grooming, riding, the sport of dressage, feeding, barn care, and more.
